IF Stripes
by emmaillustrates
“Stripes” for Illustration Friday This is a cartridge paper construction I made as a sort of little film set that I lit for optimum stripiness. Like the tv and tree narrative further down my blog, I wanted to keep it looking papery and matte.

Wow, really cool! Sort of a minimal style and yet so many great details. Really excellent job with the shadows.
Thanks Cindy! All thanks to a couple of friendly anglepoises and some tracing paper I used as diffusers. I visited your blog by the way, and I love your steampunk menagerie, really made me smile
Love the soft lightning and matte look! ❤
Wow! I love it! It intrigues me, and I want to know how you did it. But it also moves me, somehow. I like the second picture even more, with the reflection stripes on the wall from the blind. ~ Sara
thanks both of you.
i did it by using a scalpel to hand cut the pieces from white cartridge paper, then pasted them together as a tiny filmset, making the corner of a room. i lit this with anglepoise lamps and photographed it with a digital camera and that’s that! i didn’t alter or retouch the pictures just posted them straight up.
thanks for being interested 🙂
Perfect medium to capture these kinds of stripes. Very good.
thanks Elena, had a great time pootling around your site by the way, nice work!
