Little Free Library for swimming pool

Here is another Little Free Library, my third one, this time for Runnymede Swimming Pool in Essex. They asked for a swimming theme which I really enjoyed putting together. I painted a synchronised swimming team on each side, a happy floating man with his belly sticking up on the back and a pattern of assorted swimmers on the top, complete with a little dog doing doggy paddle. I’ve been a bit tardy posting this as it was erected in September last year! I hope it’s still being enjoyed by all the visitors.

I think these characters would make a lovely pattern, especially as something like a gift wrap.

I think the character in the spotty bathing suit was my favourite to draw:

Although I really liked this guy too!

Wild Summer Garden pattern

A wedding is a fantastic excuse to make patterns! I made this floral repeat pattern “Wild Summer Garden” with a textured, vintage look in two different colours as the background for my wedding invitations.

Little Free Library

Hare, bear & pear repeat pattern Little Free Library

For the E17 Art Trail this year there will be a series of little libraries across Walthamstow for people to borrow books to read, their motto – Take a book, return a book.  I was lucky enough to be one of the artists to decorate one of these lovely little things.  Here are some pictures including a particularly uncomplimentary one of me writing its name on it (thanks BF!)  It will be in Cleveland Park Ave in time for the opening of the Art Trail on 31st May.

Secret 7″

I am so pleased that my sleeve illustration has been selected for Secret 7” this year.

There are seven excellent songs pressed 100 times each onto  7″ vinyl.  Creatives of all kinds make covers for each one.  They are sold for £45 each to raise money for War Child.  Excitingly, both the artist and the track are anonymous, unknown until the buyer has their purchase in their sweaty mitts.

The exhibition will be downstairs at Mother London to view 12th and 13th April.  The singles will be available to buy on Record Store Day, 19th April.  Put your hand in your pocket and get a bargain piece of art, a 7″ single and to help children in unimaginably difficult situations.

Here’s the wonderful gallery of all the sleeves, can you guess which is mine?

I think they selected the strongest of the three that I submitted.  I can’t show you the one that they did select (it’s a secret!) but these are the two that didn’t make the bar.  First for Virginia Plain by Roxy Music, second for Massive Attack’s Karmacoma
