In Walthamstow village, the E17 Art Trail Summer Show opens Thursday night and everyone’s welcome. Artists Reception, Thursday 1st August 2013 from 6.30pm – 9.30pm Penny Fielding Gallery & Interiors, 34 Orford Road, Walthamstow E17 9NJ. There’ll be lots of work by lots of artists to see, and buy if you’re that way inclined.
Here’s the press release:
Taking the format from the famous Royal Academy Summer Exhibition: The E17 Art Trail in collaboration with Penny Fielding Gallery and Interiors, hosts its first salon style exhibition as an E17 Art Trail fund- raising initiative. As the E17 Art Trail is taking a break this summer, in readiness for its new dates 30 May-15th June 2014, the Summer Show will go some way to fill this gap. Not only will it bring the creative community together under one roof, it will raise awareness and revenue for this amazing, community driven, cultural event. “For the past nine years the E17 Art Trail has not only developed into a major event on the East London calendar, it has bought artists together and given them a platform and structure from which to work. It has generated recognition for the borough as a hot house of artistic endeavour and brought trade to many local businesses. The E17 Art trail Summer Show is a selected collection of artworks which represents the E17 arts community and beyond.” Penny Fielding
Artworks will be hung “Salon” style throughout Penny Fielding’s shop, gallery and courtyard garden at 34 Orford Road, Walthamstow Village, which will be transformed for the period of the show.
The E17 Art Trail Summer Show will feature painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media and ceramics by exceptional Walthamstow based artists. The exhibition will run 1-25 August 2013 with an artists’ reception Thursday 1 August from 6.30 pm. Penny Fielding has been a huge supporter of the E17 Art Trail from it’s beginning nine years ago, which coincided with the opening of her shop. This new initiative will help raise funds to support the administration of the next E17 Art Trail, which will celebrate its 10th birthday in 2014.
